On April 25- 27, 2007,the Department of Environmental Resources Law and Service Center, the Chinese Politics and Law University hosted the 'Chinese Civil Society and Environmental Protection Administration Forum on how NGOs can use laws to push forward Environmental Protection.' A group of GVB representatives participated in this meeting, along with representatives from the British Royal International Affairs Research Institute, the British International Development Department, the NGO Management Department of the Chinese Civil Administration Bureau, Environmental NGOs from all over the country, and 20+ law firms. At the meeting, representatives shared views about how laws can facilitate the success of environmental rights and interests. The forum also explored NGO joint operation strategies concerning the law. Representatives unanimously agreed that NGOs should strengthen their capabilities through regular contact with law firms, full use of resources and law establishments, and cooperation with the law. The meeting produced a proposal on using law to support Environmental Protection, which was signed by all representatives involved.
