ICLEI - Cities for Climate Protection

In 1993, at the invitation of ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability) – municipal leaders met at the United Nations in New York and adopted a Declaration that called for a worldwide movement of local governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality and enhance urban sustainability.
